  <title>Two new Holmes films in the works....</title>

  <description>According to Entertainment Weekly:
~ July 1, 2008. Columbia Pictures announced that an untitled Sherlock Holmes comedy starring Sacha Baron Cohen as Holmes and Will Ferrell as Dr. Watson will be produced by Judd Apatow and written by Etan Cohan.
~ July 9, 2008. Warner Bros. named Robert Downey Jr. as the lead in its more action-adventure inclined Sherlock Holmes. Guy Ritchie will direct, and the script will be based on an upcoming comic book. No Dr. Watson has been cast. Shooting begins in October 2008, with a fall 2009 planned release date.</description>

  <title>An Afternoon of Holmes&#039; Films</title>

  <description>The next meeting of The Illustrious Clients will be our annual afternoon of Sherlock Holmes&#039; Films on August 2, 2008.

Join the Indianapolis Sherlockians for cool films in a cool room at the Southport Branch of the Indpls-Marion Co Public Library, 2630 Stop 11 Road.  The program begins at Noon and will include &quot;Sherlock Holmes in Washington,&quot; one of the not-seen-too-often films with Basil Rathbone.  The second feature will be a viewing of the A&amp;amp;E Biography documentary from the &#039;80&#039;s.  The final feature will be the newly released &quot;Case of the Baker Street Irregulars&quot; starring Jonathon Pryce as Holmes.

Refreshments will be available for purchase at cost.

As in years past, an informal group will relocate to a nearby eatery for dinner after adjournment.

There will be an open meeting of committee chairs and interested volunteers on Saturday, 26 January 2008 at 2 p.m., at THE MYSTERY COMPANY (233 Second Ave SW, Carmel, IN 46032).  Anyone interested in learning more about the exciting possibilities for volunteering for BOUCHERCON 2009 in Indianapolis are invited to attend.  You will be introduced to Committee Chairs who will speak briefly about what is happening, the progress being made, and plans for the next few months.</description>

  <description>The two monthly book discussion groups at The Mystery Company will discuss Steve Hockensmith&#039;s book &quot;Holmes on the Range&quot; (2006) on Wednesday, 23 January at 7 pm, and Thursday, 24 January at 12 noon.  &quot;Holmes on the Range&quot; is the first novel featuring Old Red and Big Red Amlingmeyer, cowboys and brothers who think of themselves as the American West&#039;s version of Holmes and Watson, and who take a stab at professional &quot;detectifying&quot; and &quot;deducifying&quot;.  You are invited to join either the evening or the afternoon discussion group.  Hockensmith&#039;s second Holmes on-the-range mystery book is &quot;On the Wrong Track (2007).</description>

  <title>Next Up: Annual Victorian Dinner</title>

  <description>On Saturday, January 5th, 2008 the Illustrious Clients of Indianapolis will gather for their annual Victorian Dinner at 6pm.  The dinner meeting will be in the Benton House, a preserved Victorian mansion in Indianapolis’ historic Irvington neighborhood at 312 S. Downey Avenue.  Dinner will be provided by the guests who are asked to “Pitch-in” and contact Joella Hultgren to RSVP what they plan to bring.  This meeting is largely a social event, but there will be some brief program elements.  The venue is quite authentically Victorian and guests are encouraged to wear Victorian dress if they like.  Canonical toasts will be offered and drunk with white wine, the only alcoholic beverage permitted by house management.</description>

  <description>September 8The Illustrious Clients met for dinner at a new venue, Dawson&#039;s on Main in Speedway. After concluding a 14-year trek through the Canon, the Clients started a new round of Canon study by examining Sherlock&#039;s first case, &quot;The Gloria Scott.&quot; Pat Ward lead a rousing discussion of this story from Holmes&#039; college days. Kim Loeffler provided a puzzling quiz, with a fantastic prizes for the winners. There were toasts and news and Sherlockian fellowship! We announced the launch of our Web site, and the great interest in the Gillette to Brett Conference II (only a little more than a dozen slots left!). 

Join us for our next meeting October 20th when we uncover &quot;The Musgrave Ritual.&quot;</description>
